this simply did not work for me. I have a boxer and a whippet and their specific bark frequency seemed out of the range of the sensor. as per the instructions the device was simple enough to set up, and would work when blowing into the sensor. but even on the highest sensitivity setting the device was not triggered for either of my dogs, rendering it useless for my situation. upon further testing it seems like the sensor is programmed for higher frequency barks than the lower frequency of medium/large dogs.

We tried this for a little over a week with our Coon hound / terrier mix who is 8 years old and around 50-60 lbs. The collar was essentially non-effective in deterring him from his constant barking. This unit is definitely made for puppies, smaller dogs or breeds that are less stubborn. We're trying a different collar with a stronger static response.

It was in a small box but well packaged and also with a whistle in it.My dog has been driving me barking mad with her incessant barking at all times of the day and night. For most of time she barks at absolutely nothing. I have tried many things to break the habit with no success. I put this collar on yesterday as soon as it arrived and have already noticed a difference. It makes her stop and walk away. I keep it on the lowest and tried both settings, both have the same effect. I was impressed that the batteries were already inserted and another set provided as spares. I did have to cut the length as even the small is quite long and no way of tucking it away out of reach. Peace has now reined and saved my sanity.

Even on max sensitivity (9) it rarely detects my dogs barking. It actually gives a "warning" vibration actually goes off more frequently when she shakes her head then when she barks. It has only zapped her during extreme barking fits.Update: and stopped working within first few weeks

Works well unless my dog is really excited by something. She then continues to bark and whimper from the shock. I just have a stubborn dog but this thing really does work well.

We ordered it hoping it would work, but alas it didn't. Dog kept barking even after increasing levels. The collar itself is also flimsy and loosens very quickly which is probably one of the reasons the dog doesn't feel the vibration or shock. I would NOT recommend this product.

If the dogs scratched the collars, they would go off. They became used to it and the collars stopped working. Batteries lasted maybe 2 weeks.

This collar is unique in the fact that it is really self-controlled depending on the sensitivity it is set on and the amount of barking your dog does. It has a sensitive sound sensor with 9 levels of the two modes that can be adjusted with the button at the side of the receiver. My dog is a pretty smart cookie and learns fast that pain is not fun and stops; he quickly got the idea that if he's collar beeps he's going to feel something.I had it set at a minimal due to the fact that I didn't want to hurt him and being little this was a huge concern. I think the unit will fare better with larger breeds.
